Nominations for 2026-2027 PTA Board members now open!
The NP3 Elementary PTA Nominating Committee is looking for nominees for the 2026-2027 PTA board. Joining the PTA Board is a great way to develop your leadership skills, get involved with the school, and make a positive impact for the students and teachers. The following board positions will need to be filled:
President
Oversees and coordinates the work of an executive board to run a PTA effectively
Leads PTA board and association meetings
Serves as the official contact, communicator and representative of a PTA
Designated as an authorized signer for PTA checks, contracts and authorizations for payment
Executive Vice President
Works as the primary aide to the president
Performs president’s duties in his or her absence
Carries out other duties outlined in unit bylaws and standing rules or as assigned
Secretary
Takes minutes at board and association meetings
Co-signs formal papers with president: authorizations for payment, resolutions and formal letters
Maintains and preserves PTA records and important documents to pass on at the end of the term
Treasurer
Maintains permanent records to track unit funds and financial transactions
Prepares annual budget for adoption by the association
Pays all PTA bills as authorized by board or association
Prepares reports for every board and association meeting and an annual financial report
Ensures taxes and reports required by PTA bylaws, insurance or federal and state governments are completed and submitted by the due dates
PTA Board Requirements:
You must be a PTA member whose dues are paid and has been a member of the PTA at least 30 days prior to being nominated.
Nominees for the president and treasurer roles, or any elected officer authorized to sign checks, shall not be related by blood or marriage or reside in the same household.
You must be willing to serve a one year term (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027).
No officer shall be eligible to the same office for more than two consecutive terms or hold more than one elected or appointed office.
Work well with others, be open to collaboration, and have good communication skills.
The deadline to nominate yourself or someone else for a board position is Monday, February 9.
The NP3 Elementary PTA will be holding the annual PTA election at the April 2nd association meeting where you can run for a position or simply vote on incoming board members.
